Chachaji, a new immigrant, share a home in Queens, NY and wonderful stories over tea. Hindu myths and
family history, the colorful dance and melodic music of India unite these three generations. As Neel grows
older and busier, so grows the distance between Indian tradition and American life; the old world views of
Chachaji and the teenage interests of Neel. Though family teatime is fading away, Chachaji still drinks
everyday from his beloved teacup, a precious heirloom salvaged during his migration from Pakistan to India
after the Partition of 1947. When this symbol of survival and family history is carelessly broken by Neel, the
early teen must repair the cup and his relationship with his great-uncle. In doing so, he learns to value his
family heritage.

male or female any ethnicity). The Chief of Staff at Mercy Hospital, Parks has a small staff and
a huge amount of patients ó and he has to not only serve the cause of healing, but keep his staff
free from internecine warfare. A man who has acquired a dryly sardonic sense of humor, Parks
knows that he has to keep people working together, even when they get along like oil and water.
Expert at spotting character flaws (and strengths), he’s intent on keeping Veronica’s eyes on the
prize, rather than have her fritter away her energy on quarrels.
We are committed to diverse, inclusive casting. For every role, please submit qualified
performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, or any other basis

favor -- but his subsequent criminal conviction lands him in jail for second-degree murder...

social circle. At the circle's center is Roger, the hottest musclebear in the tri-state area. Tyler is
attracted to Roger, but his chances are slimmer than his own physique - or are they? An unlikely
friendship and spark forms between the pair, but a few outside elements keep coming in between
them. Add in a handful of friends with even more romance, frisky agendas, and problems and
you've got a whole lot of fur flying!

survival.
NOTE: Actors should prepare two songs contrasting in style/tempo, appropriate for the show
(including contemporary musical theater/pop (in the style of Jason Robert Brown, Adam Guettel

DRESSED IN BLACK is inspired by and incorporates the music of 1960’s girl-rebel groups such
as the Shangri-Las, and the enduring power of their cult anthems. Set in the present day,
DRESSED IN BLACK is the story of MARY, an introverted outcast of a teenager left brokenhearted,
angry and alone after her protector and only friend, her sister KATIE, abandons her for a
boy. Exactly one year later, Mary is given a clue as to her sister’s whereabouts and must finally
summon the courage seek out and confront her. Mary soon finds herself hitching a high-speed
ride with JO-ANN and JOANIE, a pair of sharp-tongued, mod-to-the-max twin sisters, who know
exactly how to unleash her inner hellcat. Suited in black leather and smoldering with sexuality,
Mary ventures into the neon red streets of Brooklyn, rife with wicked personalities. Drawing
courage from the reverberating bass lines, deep piano chords and fervent crescendos of her most
provoking bad-girl ballads, Mary will ultimately find her sister so that they may together perform
one last deadly song.
SEEKING:
[MARY] 18 years old. Pretty. Initially, young and naive, but by the end of her journey she is sexy,
ruthless, and in control. Queens native. Consumed by the music of 1960’s girl-rebel groups, Mary
has never fit in with her peers, with the exception of her only friend and protector her sister Katie.
When Katie abandons her to run off with Danny, Mary is hurt, angry, and alone. After a year, she
goes to track down Katie and with the help of sharp-tongued twins Jo-Ann and Joanie transforms
into a black leather clad vixen not unlike the retro girl-rebels that are always playing in her head.
As she gains confidence with her new look and attitude, she arrives at a final confrontation with
Katie where she is the one in control and forces her sister to bend to her will. (LEAD)
[KATIE] 20 years old. Pretty, outgoing, sexy. Queens native. The dominant personality in her
family, she is the protector and only real friend of her shy, reclusive sister Mary. After an
encounter on Far Rockaway Beach with retro-hot Danny, Katie escapes her Queens life and runs
off on the back of Danny’s motorcycle to a world of smoky black-clad mod Brooklyn parties. After
a year, her abandoned sister Mary tracks her down, but not before being made-over inside and
out with the help of twins Jo-Ann and Joanie. When Mary arrives at Katie’s door for their final
confrontation, she has become the dominant force and it is Katie who has to bend to the force of
Mary’s will. (LEAD)

There is nudity in this project.
SEEKING:
[JUDY SIFF] early 50s, - wealthy and well-meaning New York theater producer. Despite many years on the
Upper East Side she has not lost the sound of her Jewish, New Jersey background. Judy compensates for
intellectual insecurity through a powerful need to attach to people whom she considers gifted or avant-garde.
Somewhat absent-minded and naive, but with a deep need to prove herself.
[MIMI WEISGLASS] early 50s, - an actress whose moment of quasi-success on Broadway nearly thirty
years ago has been shrewdly parlayed into a career playing to Jewish audiences in her one-woman shows;
she has nonetheless developed the imperiousness of a great Broadway diva, with a tendency toward
monomaniacal self-involvement that can become monstrous. Can also be vulnerable and genuinely tender.
(Actress must also play RUTH, late 40s, a middle-class wife and mother in Newark, New Jersey.)
[DAVID] early 30s, - assistant to a theater producer and an aspiring playwright. Open-hearted and less
assertive than he should be. Smart, nervous, impressionable, energetic, and prone to getting lost in his own
drama.
[AMY] late 20s,- a wildly ambitious, attractive actress with a cunning ability to further her own career, but not
incapable of being genuinely hurt; enormously energetic, with a contagious, almost malignant enthusiasm,
and a deep, unshakable sense of her own rightness in any situation. Must also play YOUNG MIMI.
[ASTRUD] late 20s,- a housemaid to a Broadway actress, with a quiet, unassuming demeanor and an
accent of uncertain derivation (though probably Brazilian); her retiring manner hides a wry and knowing
sense of humor. Must also play YOUNG JUDY.
[AVI AVIV] early 30s, Nudity - a true chameleon, and very likely a sociopath; must appear convincingly
Isreali, but also have a command of Australian, Russian, and South African accents. Charismatic, deeply
sexy, unpredictable, flirtatious, temperamental, and mesmerizing. (Must also play FATHER, a gruff New
Jersey patriarch in his late 50s who speaks only in unintelligible grunts).

SYNOPSIS: 21-year-old wannabe actor Tyler is a young, cute and trendy gay boy, but he has a
secret: heís attracted to big, burly, hairy "bears". Up until now, he's been too timid to do anything
about it aside from flirt online. Enter 30-something bear Fred and his hipster boyfriend, Brent, who
happen to be looking for a roommate. Soon Tyler has moved in and become part of the couple's
social circle.
There is nudity in this project.
SEEKING:
[ROGER] 30s-40s Sexy, confident and assured "musclebear" (meaning muscular, hairy, stocky,
burly - an all around big guy). Roger is known for his sexual escapades. He can easily land any
"bear" he has his eye on. His attraction to someone as boyish as Tyler confuses him. NUDITY:

LOOKING FOR ACTORS WHO CAN BE HIRED AS NASHVILLE LOCAL HIRES ONLY. If
Actors are or can be Nashville based, please submit those actors only for the following
two roles. Thank you!
[TONY] Early 30s to 45, Caucasian. The owner of the Austin bar where Bailey works, Tony
overtly dislikes Bailey, an opinion that's exacerbated when he confirms his suspicions that Bailey
is sleeping with Jackie, who's currently dating Tony. Belligerent (but with reason), Tony has a
fight with Bailey and winds up in the hospital...3 speeches & 19 lines, 3 scenes
[JACKIE] 30 years old, Caucasian, a little rough around the edges with a southern feel, but pretty
and sexy. Jackie works at the same bar as Bailey in Austin, and though she's currently dating the
owner (and their boss) Tony, she's having an affair on the side with Bailey. Jackie's horrified
when Bailey and Tony start fighting over her and is even more upset when Bailey puts Tony in
the hospital. Jackie later talks with Bailey on the phone while he's out of town, and tells him the
cops are looking for him...13 lines, 3 scenes
STORY LINE: JEFFERSON BAILEY, a lost young blues musician with a penchant for getting into
fights, goes on a road trip in the deep South with the mysterious AUGUSTINE "AUGY" COVEY,
who allegedly wants to find an antique box that once belonged to an ante-bellum slave, to which
Bailey has the key. Along their journey Bailey is forced to confront his past, the choices he's
made for himself, and his options for the future, but with the help of Augy, his old friend SANTA
and Santa's lovely granddaughter HANNAH, Bailey eventually finds himself on the right path...

(VANCE SHEPARD) Cast -- Eric McCormack
SEEKING:
[LYSETTE DALE] Female; Any Ethnicity; Mid 20ís-Mid 30ís; Curvy, Beautiful, Cleavage set on
"Stun", sleek, elegant tall glass of water, business savvy, Executive assistant to our renowned
CEO Vance Shepard. Sheís more intelligent than she lets on and she's Vance's biggest fan, and
trusted colleague. She's happy to coo to the cops about what a great boss he is and how well he
treats his employees. She even took advantage of the companyís generous health plan and got
herself a free set of breast implants - which she makes sure to display. Later, however, Lysette is
key to implicating Vance for murder. But even that is a sign of her devotion. Vance asked her to
turn him in even though he's innocent - and Lysette dutifully complied. (GUEST STAR)
[OWEN CASSIDY] Male; Caucasian; Mid-Late 20ís; Scruffy good looks; well bred, silver spoon,
bad boy, coke dabbling commodities broker type who lost his job in the economic turndown and
decided to be "funemployed" rather than get back into the rat race. Is secretly funding his
"paycation" by running coke up from Florida in his yacht. When the cops arrive, he thinks theyíre
onto his drug running and joint smoking and flees. Still feels a little stung that his former girlfriend,
Mindy (our victim) left him for someone else. (THREE SCENES)
[ED] Male; Any Ethnicity; 20ís; A wiry, skinny, warcraft - Dungeons & Dragons - magic cards
playing; tech-obsessed nerd. Lives to go on nighttime "geo-cache" treasure hunts throughout the
city. Couldnít punch a hole through a paper bag but he sure will try with gusto - very competitive,
obsessive even, about winning geo-cache hunts. Will attempt to fight you if you get in his way and
certainly spazz out. (THREE SCENES)
[RUSTY] Male; Any Ethnicity; 20's-30's; overweight; hulking; lumbering; Star Wars shirt wearing,
comic book collecting, GI Joe playing nerd. Probably lives with his Mom and eats her out of
house and home. Also an obsessed "geo-cacher" (See ED above). Has no problem with the
trespassing involved in geo-caching - he thinks it makes the game more fun. (THREE SCENES)
[CAT] Female; Any Ethnicity; 20's. Female, funky, hipster, intelligent, computer wiz, village vibe
with a nerd twist, a bit intellectual in an outer fringe of society/ off the grid kind of way. Grocery
store clerk by day, legendary geo-cacher/Scavenger hunt mastermind by night. Keeps her identity
unknown - partly for mysteryís sake, partly because she doesn't need nerdy fanboys drooling all
over her. Uses the moniker "The Master Baiter." Knows her followers giggle at the name. Cat is
happy to help the cops as long as they don't bust her for trespassing. (TWO-THREE SCENES)
11
LAW & ORDER: SVU (10), "Sugar" page 2
[PAMELA] Female; Any Ethnicity, Early 20's; Stunning, sophisticated, high class, $5000.00/week
escort sex bomb, looking to land a "sugar daddy" who will provide her with the finer things in life.
Promises many sensual rewards if she chooses you. Has a boyfriend (a musician of course), but
has no problem having sex with other "gentlemen" if the arrangement is right. Does not see
herself as a prostitute though. Screw you for even thinking it. Being a member of TastySugar.com
helps her rationalize the business-like attitude she has about sex and money. Pamela simply
deserves the good life. (GOOD TWO SCENES)
[BEATRICE] Female; Any Ethnicity; 35-55; Elegant, bordering on prim, pearls demur, savvy
proprietor and "Madam" of Chaste Date, a non-sexual dating/escort service. Takes offense at
being called a Madam. Proud of her girls and the platonic services they offer. Sees her niche
business as a bulwark against the sleazy nature of today's Facebook-obsessed young people.
(TWO SCENES)
[JOYCE SHEPARD] Female; Caucasian; Early-Mid 40ís; pretty and put together in a tightlywound
kind of way. Ex-wife of Vance Shepard (Eric McCormack) - and still bitter about the 20
years she wasted on him. A serious hypochondriac (had a double mastectomy she didnít need)
and now committed to showing the world that her ex is not the easy-going good guy he portrays
himself to be. Part harpy/part eternal victim. (TWO SCENES; 8 LINES)
[ROGER KEEFE] Male; Caucasian; Mid 40ís-Early 50ís; Salt of the earth Blue Collar car
mechanic and father of our 20yr old victim (MINDY). Grease under his nails - and proud of it.
Always had a tough time controlling his headstrong, partying daughter. Utterly devastated at her
death. (ONE SCENE; 5-7 LINES)
[TANYA KEEFE] Female; African-American; Mid 40ís, Blue collar, hard 40ís; step-mother to our
victim; the kind that takes a wrench to a Harley and jumps on the back no helmet. Wary of city
folk and fiercely protective of her husband; never got along with her step daughter, the wild child.
(ONE SCENE; 7 LINES)
[MINDY KEEFE] Female; Caucasian; 18-21; Our victim; A brown haired, sweet faced girl with a
wild child personality and a body to back it up. She was from a loving family but from the wrong
side of the tracks, liked to party and date the bad boys to match and began working for an escort
service to help her meet the richest ones. She was growing fond of the Manhattan lifestyle and
had no problem being the mistress of many men including Vance Shepard. Never seen alive in
this episode except via a video intro she made on a dating website. (APPEARS IN 3-4 Scenes
with 2-3 lines)
[PHIL] Male; Any Ethnicity; 50ís; Pear-shaped and always irritated; quick wit, acerbic career
grocery store manager. Calls the cops a lot, especially when he sees homeless people pushing
his storeís carts around town. (ONE SCENE; 8 LINES)
[CLAIRE] Female; Any Ethnicity; Early 20ís; Gossipy if mousy and meek, but probably wild in the
sack secretary/assistant to Beatrice our Madam of Chaste Dating escort services. Has
information about our victim wanting to find more excitement on another website - and probably
looked it up herself after Mindy told her about it. (ONE SCENE: 5 LINES)
12
LAW & ORDER: SVU (10), "Sugar" page 3
[TRANSIT UNIFORM COP] Male; Any Ethnicity; 40's-50's; Burly, no nonsense, professional cop
who's always happy to lend his expertise to an investigation. (ONE SCENE; 5 lines)

chicken breasts and brown rice. (2-3 lines)
[BANKER] Male/Female; Asian; Late 20's-40's, serious-minded, power accounts, probably slightly
accented; helping SMG break into the Chinese Market. (1-2 lines)
[WAITRESS] Female; Any Ethnicity; 30's; Novelist/Waitress at a Soho Bistro; career food service
since her novel didn't sell, plays friendly to customers but probably spits in food if you're a jerk. (1-
2 lines)

NOTE: WE WILL CONSIDER ANY ETHNICITY FOR ALL ROLES.
[EBENEEZER SCROOGE] (50-65 years of age) Quintessential curmudgeon, must have superb
comic and dramatic range. Beneath the crusty exterior is a man seeking a connection. Involves
flying. LONDON ACCENT. Not posh, not Cockney.
